FABULOUS COLORS OF FALL

The colors of autumn abound!  Throughout this transformational season, shades of gold, rust, amber, orange, green and red surround us.  Foliage has been altered, seemingly overnight, as the magic of nature takes its course.  Leaves become works of art, offering rich and amazing views all around us.

Wherever you are experiencing the richness of fall, whether it is in the countryside areas of Vermont, with its organic glory just before the snows of winter come,

or a more man-made “miracle” such as the spectacular Pavlovsk Park in Russia, take a moment to witness the wonders of this season’s luscious splendor.

As you appreciate the changes Fall brings to outdoor scenery, notice that wardrobes are changing too.  Gone now are the pale pinks and corals of summer and in their place are bordeaux, raisin, burgundy and plum.

What’s your favorite Fall color?  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, why not add a Komarov piece in a fabulous rich shade of it to your collection?  Like trees that prepare for fresh growth, add something new to your closet this season.

You deserve it!

Pumpkin season

Nowadays it seems that we don’t give one season a chance to be over before we are into the next one. I was thinking about this the other day when I noticed that pumpkin options had started to sprout up around town in various grocery stores and coffee houses. But alas, it’s true. Summer is just about winding down and pumpkin season will begin.

It won’t be long before we are wearing Sangria, Cypress, Cognac, Misted Yellow and Aurora Red, the fall colors according to www.pantone.com.

Any moment now Starbucks customers will trade in their frappuccino for pumpkin spice latte. In no time, bakery shelves will be filled with pumpkin muffins and cookies, restaurant specials will include pumpkin ravioli and specialty shops will carry pumpkin soup. So why not consider making some homemade pumpkin pie?

It’s actually an interesting idea considering pumpkin’s health benefits. Pumpkins are loaded with beta carotenes (their bright orange skin is a tell tale sign), carotenoids that either work as antioxidants or convert to Vitamin A. They play a key role in our well being. Vitamin A helps with healthy development, keeps your immune system working well and helps your vision. Antioxidants help fight against free radicals. Pumpkins also contain minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium. They are high in fiber and low in calories. All of these factors make indulging in pumpkin treats seem like a not too guilty pleasure.

Here’s the original Libby’s® Pumpkin Pie recipe that has been around for decades. It is easy to make and delicious. Besides that, your house will smell fall wonderful as it is baking.

I recently attended an opening at The Inn Gallery, an art gallery located in Los Feliz, California. The gallery presented the “All Eyes Need Art” theme, and while I was amazed by all of the artists that were in attendance, one really caught my eye. Mattie Sproul from San Francisco, California creates one of a kind artwork using only pieces of magazine clippings.  If you are a lover of art, you will really appreciate the work that she has done to create her original masterpieces.

One of my favorites from the show is seen above.  Another, the artist’s self portrait, is shown below:Mattie3

Mattie donated a few of her pieces to the raffle that evening and the opening was a huge success.  The many in attendance were seen having a great time sipping wine while enjoying the artwork.  I absolutely loved all of Ms.Sproul’s work and wish her and her art great success.

The Cut

Many of us focus on the color or the fabric when looking for new clothes.  But we often forget about the CUT! The back of the Komarov dress below, shows a great cut to accentuate the curves and elongating your already beautiful looks!

Some designers might cut corners and attempt to speed up the design process, but at Komarov, we want you to look your best. So be your best, with Komarov!Komarov-3250

Spring Art

The Komarov dress below mixes spring fabric with an artistic design.  People will say, “I’ve never seen a pattern like this before!” It’s bright and fun while still staying in the professional realm. Treat yourself to something NEW!Komarov-3151

Ponytail ideas

Sometimes waking up and straightening or curling your hair is just not an option which means the classic ponytail is going to become your go-to style. Luckily, you don’t have to leave your ponytail plain and boring because there are plenty of ways that you can dress it up. For example, add a flower under your elastic holder.

Or perhaps you could tie on a scarf that coordinates with the rest of your outfit. Another way to enhance your ponytail would be to accessorize it with a nice headband. However you chose to style up your ponytail, you will have a fabulous new hairdo that will look superb when teamed with a dress from Komarov designs!

Animal prints

Animal prints always seem to be in, but they are making an especially big Sprink Comeback this season.

But we’re seeing more an more animal print inspired looks, rather than the ACTUAL print.  Similar to the look below, we’ve got some leopard inspiration paired with almost a rock-like look.  This creates such a unique earth vs. animal pattern that is just what you need this season!small.print

Hues of Blues

Blue is one of those colors that looks great on everyone.  Whether it’s a powder blue top on a blond, a vibrant aqua on a redhead or a smart navy on a brunette, there’s something for everyone with Blue!

Blue also has an amazing calming effect.  Soft oceans and contemplative night sky are just a couple easing thoughts that come to mind.  With calmness comes confidence.  So bring on the blue, blue, blue!small.turquoisedress
